Guido Fazio's Jazz Gig -- This Saturday in Hayward!

A little more info from Guido: "The venue is one of the newest dining/music spots and in my home town, Hayward. The members of this quintet have worked with or backed Jazz Greats such as: Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Mel Torme', Cal Tjader, Sarah Vaughn, Phil Woods, Frank Rosolino and Poncho Sanchez to name a few.

Rehearsals resume September 4, 2013

Dear band members, potential band members, and friends of the Castro Valley Community Band,

Rehearsals for the 2013-2014 season begin September 4, 2013.

We rehearse at 7:30 p.m. in the band room at Canyon Middle School.

You can register for the class at the Castro Valley Adult and Career Education website, or bring a check for $111 (made out to CVACE) to our first rehearsal.

The Castro Valley Community Band has three concerts over the next few weeks. Please come and hear us!

February 27, 7:30 p.m., San Leandro High School: Joint concert with the bands of San Leandro High School. 2200 Bancroft Avenue, San Leandro, California. $5.

March 6, 7:30 p.m., Bishop O'Dowd High School: Joint concert with the band of Bishop O'Dowd High School. 9500 Stearns Avenue, Oakland, California. Free.

March 27, 7:30 p.m., Castro Valley Center for the Arts: Our annual spring concert. 19501 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, California. Free.

Winter Concert: December 19, 2012

The Castro Valley Community Band's winter concert will be held on December 19, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Castro Valley Center for the Arts, 19501 Redwood Road, Castro Valley, California 94546.

Free holiday cheer for all ages! This annual holiday concert features the 60-piece Community Band under the direction of Kathy Maier. Selections include: "Waltz of the Flowers," "March of the Toys" from "Babes in Toyland," "A Jingle Bell Fantasy," "Klezmer Dances," highlights from "Jersey Boys," "Feliz Navidad," "Where Eagles Soar," "A Jammin' Caribbean Christmas," other pieces of the season, and a sing-along! 

Refreshments will be served, compliments of Castro Valley Adult and Career Education.
